Play group Halloween party

On October 27th, we had a Halloween party at our house for playgroup. It was a combined party with both of my play groups, so it was a fun and lively event!

We had the kids dressing up in costumes as optional(most did), we painted pumpkins (byop-bring your own pumpkin), feasted on a yummy potluck lunch, went on a trick-or-treat hunt, and then ended with frosting pumpkin cupcakes for dessert.

I bought washable paint this time!

Our First Hall-Zoo-ween of the Month

Every year the Cincinnati Zoo hosts Hall-Zoo-Ween three weekends in October. They have special shows, pumpkin hunts with the animals, and booths that the kids can trick or treat at. Love it!!
We always try to make it every weekend. This year I am making sure we do because the kids won't be able to trick or treat this year since Halloween is on Sunday.

I let them pick there own costumes this week from the costume box. Natalie Chose to be a witch. Brayden wanted to be a pirate and Jenalee chose to be a gorilla. I usually try and have them all theme relate, but they had so much fun choosing, I let them mismatch this week.

Frisch's always hosts a pumkin patch were the kids can pick out a tiny pumkin.

They all had fun getting there own off of the hay bails.
Our favorite stop around the Zoo is definately the Ice cream shop where the kids trick or treat for a free small ice cream cup.

Jenalee chose vanilla

While Brayden and Natalie went for Chocolate.

There was an Illusionist/Magic show that the kids enjoyed. Brayden especially loved the last trick where the guy was tied in a bag and locked in the box. Then his assistent raised a curtain around the whole thing and in a flash the man had traded places with the assistant and she was unlocked from the box. Braydens mouth dropped in amazement and he looked at me excitedly and quietly asked "how did he do that?"

The weather was a little warm for my taste, but it was tons of funs, especially because my friend Sharon and her kids went with us. Two pregnant ladies pushing strollers at our very hilly Zoo in the warm sun is quite the site to see!!
